Last week, Brian shared his coding with AI knowledge and experience with us. He showed us how to use chatGPT to generate HTML and CSS code to make a landing page. This week, while Brian is on vacation. I’m going to share my no-code experience with AI. No-code tools have empowered many people to become builders, creators, and innovators without having to learn how to code. However, some learning curves and challenges still exist in using some of these tools. That’s why I’m excited to see more no-code tools that AI powers. These tools use artificial intelligence to automate and simplify the process of building applications, making it easier and faster for anyone to get started.Â
Before we delve into those fascinating tools, let me share how Brian and I keep ourselves informed about AI tools. Our focus is not on what's new, but on what's genuinely useful in our daily lives and work. We've established a routine where each of us shares one AI tool, a learning resource, a video, or anything AI-related every day. Just one thing, related to AI, every single day. We're considering sharing this valuable resource with everyone, which is why we're launching the Daily WhoWhatWhyAi newsletter on July 7, 2023, provided we receive enough sign-ups.😉 Feel free to sign up here.
Making websites with no-code AI tools
I have tried several website makers like Pineapple Builder, Yep.so, AI2Page, Framer AI, Unicorn Platform AI, and Durable no-code AI. These tools work quickly, generating a complete website in under 2 minutes. AI Pineapple Builder is one of the first AI no-code web builders I am familiar with. As a beta tester, I have personally witnessed its gradual improvement through the addition of various features over time. Simply choose any template, and the AI will automatically generate all the website copies for you. You can conveniently chat with the AI on the sidebar, allowing it to make edits to specific sections as per your requirements. What I particularly like about Yep.so is its ability to generate a founder's letter along with the full website copy. With AI2Page, I appreciate the feature that allows users to easily change the theme color and select images from platforms like Unsplash, Lexica, Pixabay, and more. As for Durable, I was amazed that I could create an entire website on my mobile phone in less than 30 seconds! You can check out an example I made with Durable back in January.
Now, let's discuss Unicorn Platform and Framer. These tools offer impressive templates and boast powerful functionalities. I have been using them even before they were integrated with AI. The AI-generated websites they produce are visually appealing and responsive across all devices. The best part is that we can preview the website while editing it. However, if you're new to these tools, you'll still need to invest some time to familiarize yourself with them before you can confidently edit and publish your website.
RIP Developers?
I constantly come across the "RIP web developers" thread on Twitter, and I must admit, they are quite amusing. 😆 It's something I never imagined would become a reality. How can we possibly have these incredible no-code AI web builders that eliminate the need for developers? However, as I delve into building websites using these no-code tools, I've discovered certain limitations that hindered me from creating exactly what I envisioned. While AI no-code websites are undoubtedly fast, they do have their limitations. There's simply no way they can completely replace the expertise and creativity of developers. Therefore, those "RIP web developers" threads are undoubtedly clickbait and far from the truth.
