“Ai is a rocket ship.”
This week we launched on Product Hunt. 🙏 Thank you to everybody who’s ready to buckle in and get serious about Ai, ChatGPT and generative art. We ranked #6 on launch day and were featured in the Product Hunt newsletter.
We had so much fun launching, and realized how important this knowledge is and how it’s going to help us all launch. Sure, we may blow up on the launch pad, but we should all try to achieve orbit. Let’s level up our commitment to the skills of how to use Ai. ( explorer community coming soon ) Let’s go!
Who
Stephen Wolfram - tells us almost exactly how ChatGPT and Ai think. Hint, he’s super smart, and the computers aren’t thinking. Read this.
Matthias Neumayer and Dima Rubanov created Oscar - a beautiful, story generator. Use it to tuck in adults or children at bedtime and get inspired for what you could create. ( a mobile app built with Ai art )
Jens Lennartsson - is teaching people to become Prompt Engineers for free — a useful skill in a world where Ai heroically transforms a text prompt. (his marketing skills are worth a little attention too )
What
We asked ChatGPT to create a mindmap for our Ai Explorer Community - after finding some a great article on Medium discussing effective prompting.
Create your own fan comic panels with Fantoons - make art & make friends.
Scribblediffusion — a simple tool to make AI art with doodles. Addictive. Have fun.
Why
If you’re following along with Ai, you already know it’s moving fast. One obvious point is that it’s designed to accelerate. The another is that humans are tool builders and we’re finding all kinds of creative ways to make Ai work for us.
“I can’t imagine being a student right now and being told not to use the latest technology. Catch up schools - you’ll have to do better or just get left behind.” - shower thought.
Ai is exciting because it’s not really artificial. It’s actually just math, applied to language or applied to a pixel’s color values. The premise of something like ChatGPT is essentially to try to predict the best possible next response. ( read the Stephen Wolfram article linked above. Then think. “Oh! It’s just math.”
Ai gone wrong
The Prompt: A sad young asian woman sitting in the dark tears on her eye.
( real tears may have been shed in the making of this issue )

BuuuZ — What are we doing with Ai?
It’s decided. Being active and launching is the way to go. After watching Zeng take massive action and increase the size of this newsletter 3x, we realized three things:
We (including you) are excited about Ai
We can all build tools, generate art, and have a blast doing it
We should all be building and launching what’s possible with Ai
Because of that, we’re going to make a small bet and launch a community to support you if you want to learn to build with ChatGPT, generative art, or Ai related APIs. We’ve got a simple concept. Use conversation + Ai to build tools. If you want to get in early, shoot us a DM on Twitter.
Thank you again for the support on Product Hunt. You can find Zeng and Brian on PH.
